My niece is having her first birthday soon. Since she's growing up on the farm, I wanted to make a farm inspired gift. Her daddy (my brother) doesn't have any livestock - but I still thought this was adorable. Hopefully the cuteness factor will outweigh the fact that the applique pieces are disproportionate.
The dress is made from a man's shirt that I bought at Good Will. My girls liked green - saying it was like the green pasture for the animals. My mom took some measurements of "Baby C" because I was working from a 2T pattern. After all the sewing I've done for my girls, this was like sewing doll clothes.

Green Robe with Flowers
Both girls were invited to Mia's 4th Birthday Party. So I made this cute little robe. I didn't have quite enough bias tape left to use on the entire robe. But I thought the brown tape on the tie was a cute accent. This is the last of the flower fabric. I have used if for many things. If it hadn't been on the clearance rack, I would have bought alot more.
Thomas the Train
We were invited to Micah's 1st Birthday Party. He's a little guy, but oh so very adorable. It was fun to make a smaller robe than usual. I used some Thomas the Train fabric that I found in my stash. I'd had the fabric for years, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it!
Ahoy Mate
Jeff and Sarah are having a baby boy soon. Their nursery theme is nautical and the ladies from their Growth Group planned a lovely nautical themed baby shower. I loved the chance to work with the theme. Apparently it's hard to find clothes with sailboats on them . . . . at least that was the "complaint" at the shower. I made a hat & bibs for this little guy.
These are 9-12 months or maybe it's 6-9 . . . I can't remember . . . . oh well.
My favorite thing about these bibs . . . . the steering wheel on the back. . . . . .

Love Is In The Air
Some dear friends are having a baby girl this month. We don't see them much anymore, but they did come for dinner last week. We wanted to give them a little something for their soon-to-be-born daughter. The bibs are 18 months - so it will be awhile before she wears them.
I think this is so adorable. I used cording for the balloon strings and zig zag stitched over top of it.

Pretty Purple Paisley
Okay - so it's not really paisley - but I don't have a better way to describe this beautiful fabric. My nearly 7 year old was invited to a birthday party for a good friend from her class. My other daughter went with me to the store and SHE picked this towel color and the fabric to match. In choosing this color towel, we chose a heavier towel than what I usually like to use. It was difficult to sew because the towel was so thick. However, we all agreed the finished product was PERFECT!
I absolutely love this fabric - I'm seriously considering go back and buying more. I already made four re-usable lunch bags with it and have lots of things in mind for the rest!

Croctoberfest
I am SO excited about this shirt. Finally something for one of MY girls! The older one chose to go to The Discover Center nearby for her Birthday Party. They are having an event in mid-October called "Croctoberfest". I'm not sure what exactly the event will entail - but I think she'll be absolutely adorable in this shirt.
I wish I would have put the ric rac on before ironing down the croc - then only the top "humps" would show. You live and learn I guess.
