Green Robe with Flowers
Both girls were invited to Mia's 4th Birthday Party. So I made this cute little robe. I didn't have quite enough bias tape left to use on the entire robe. But I thought the brown tape on the tie was a cute accent. This is the last of the flower fabric. I have used if for many things. If it hadn't been on the clearance rack, I would have bought alot more.
Thomas the Train
We were invited to Micah's 1st Birthday Party. He's a little guy, but oh so very adorable. It was fun to make a smaller robe than usual. I used some Thomas the Train fabric that I found in my stash. I'd had the fabric for years, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it!
Ahoy Mate
Jeff and Sarah are having a baby boy soon. Their nursery theme is nautical and the ladies from their Growth Group planned a lovely nautical themed baby shower. I loved the chance to work with the theme. Apparently it's hard to find clothes with sailboats on them . . . . at least that was the "complaint" at the shower. I made a hat & bibs for this little guy.
These are 9-12 months or maybe it's 6-9 . . . I can't remember . . . . oh well.
My favorite thing about these bibs . . . . the steering wheel on the back. . . . . .

Love Is In The Air
Some dear friends are having a baby girl this month. We don't see them much anymore, but they did come for dinner last week. We wanted to give them a little something for their soon-to-be-born daughter. The bibs are 18 months - so it will be awhile before she wears them.
I think this is so adorable. I used cording for the balloon strings and zig zag stitched over top of it.

Pretty Purple Paisley
Okay - so it's not really paisley - but I don't have a better way to describe this beautiful fabric. My nearly 7 year old was invited to a birthday party for a good friend from her class. My other daughter went with me to the store and SHE picked this towel color and the fabric to match. In choosing this color towel, we chose a heavier towel than what I usually like to use. It was difficult to sew because the towel was so thick. However, we all agreed the finished product was PERFECT!
I absolutely love this fabric - I'm seriously considering go back and buying more. I already made four re-usable lunch bags with it and have lots of things in mind for the rest!

Croctoberfest
I am SO excited about this shirt. Finally something for one of MY girls! The older one chose to go to The Discover Center nearby for her Birthday Party. They are having an event in mid-October called "Croctoberfest". I'm not sure what exactly the event will entail - but I think she'll be absolutely adorable in this shirt.
I wish I would have put the ric rac on before ironing down the croc - then only the top "humps" would show. You live and learn I guess.

Fancy Nancy
This robe was made for my niece, who like my daughters loves Fancy Nancy. I learned how make bias tape here. The hood lining and bias tape are made from Fancy Nancy fabric.
Purple & Pink Dots
This is the robe I made for my daughter. No hood on this one. It was here I learned that making robes with sleeves is difficult. It's easy to get the sleeves too long. The robes are made from towels. Here I used a large beach towel and store bought bias tape.
Polka Dots
Sometime in early 2012 I stumbled upon a robe pattern here. I had just purchased a robe for my older daughter and decided it might be fun to make one for her sister. I also decided that this would make an excellent gift for all the preschool birthday parties we were starting to attend. This was my first one, and it was actually a gift for friend. Since this one was gifted in March 2012, I have made countless robes - most of them have left our house without a photograph. Most of them have had hoods with short sleeves.
Tweet, Tweet
This pair of bibs is for a co-worker who is expecting a baby girl next month (Sept 2013). I learned at a recent staff picnic that she was feeling overwhelmed with all the pink. So I decided to make something "girly" but not pink. What I love most about this pair is the tree on the back. I think it's just adorable, if I do say so myself.
Fishy in the Ocean; Fishy in the Sea
This pair is for a co-worker. She is expecting a baby boy later in August. The blue fabric with fish is left over from a robe I made for my nephew. The shark on the front is cut out from this fabric. The sale boat on the back of the bibs is my first attempt at traditional applique.
Case IH - Flowers & Monogram
These were made for my new niece (born 5/2013; given as a gift 7/2013) . I've had the fabric for over a year - just waiting for the right opportunity to use it. The flower stem on the leg was my first attempt at using the decorative stitches on my machine.
